How to verify whether the glass is high borosilicate heat-resistant glass ?
Glass cups can usually be divided into ordinary soda lime glass, tempered glass, and high borosilicate heat-resistant glass, but these three types are difficult to distinguish from their appearance. Usually laymen watch the excitement, and insiders watch the doorway. As a normal person who buys glasses, in a short period of time, the heat-resistant glass is artificially melted and the time for temporarily buying glasses is accurately judged. The texture is very difficult. So how to verify whether the glass cup is high borosilicate heat-resistant glass?
High borosilicate heat-resistant glass can withstand an instantaneous temperature difference of about 150 ℃, and can hold hot and cold drinks safely. The main process is manual blowing and semi-automatic assembly line, as well as special suppression. Ordinary glass can withstand an instantaneous temperature difference of 75°C. It is recommended to drink cold drinks, plain water, etc. Mainly the pressing process and the iron pipe blowing process. Tempered glass is not recommended for liquids.
Artificially blown high borosilicate glass, the raw material is mainly high borosilicate glass pipe, which is softened at high temperature, and then placed in a mold for rotary blow molding or fixed blow molding. The glass manufacturer tells everyone. Blown products are generally very thin. The thickness of general high borosilicate glass tea set and coffee set is about 1.2-1.8 mm, and the thickness of pot is about 1.8-2.2 mm. Occasionally there are straight cups or pots that are thick, because there is no blowing, the raw material pipe used, so it can reach a thickness of 2-4mm.
The double-layer glass must be made of high borosilicate heat-resistant glass. Glass cups with handles are light and thin, and must be made of high borosilicate glass with a thickness of less than 2mm. The glass manufacturer tells everyone. If it is heavy, it depends on whether there is a mold print on the handle part. If there is, it is not heat-resistant glass (except in rare cases), if not, it is heat-resistant glass. If the handle is glued on, if you look closely at the connection between the handle and the cup body, you will definitely see the difference, it will not be symmetrical, and it will not be perfect. Generally, a straight cup with a thick bottom must be suppressed. Because it is made manually, thickening the bottom to 2 cm is simply sky-high, and the thickness will not be consistent, which is ugly, and the gain is not worth the loss.
In addition to the above methods, the following methods can also be used for rapid identification.
1. You can put the cup in the refrigerator for 24 hours and pour 100 degrees hot water. If it bursts, it must not be high borosilicate glass.
2. High borosilicate glass has better transparency, more delicate body and smoother touch feeling. High temperature resistance, resistance to sudden cold and heat, is the obvious feature of high borosilicate glass products.
3. A glass is a cup whose raw material is glass. Usually the raw material is high borosilicate glass, which is fired at a high temperature of more than 600 degrees. It is a new type of environmentally friendly cup, which is becoming more popular.
