What are the glass bottles made of?
Generally, commercial beverage bottles (beer, soda, wine), food jars, and window glass are made from soda-lime glass material that is melted at very high temperatures, 1500 °C, and then molded into the desired bottle shape. The main ingredients include:
- 70-75% Silica (SiO₂): Sand. This is the primary glass former and provides the core structure.
- 12-16% Soda (Sodium Oxide, Na₂O): Usually added as soda ash (sodium carbonate). This acts as a flux—it dramatically lowers the melting point of silica from around 2,300°C (4,172°F) to a more practical 1,500°C (2,732°F), saving energy.
- 10-15% Lime (Calcium Oxide, CaO): Usually from limestone. This acts as a stabilizer and makes the glass chemically durable and insoluble in water. Without it, "soda glass" would dissolve!

What's the pressure for a sodawater bottle?
Our glass soda water bottles are qualified to hold 12 atmospheres of internal pressure.
why choose our Glass Sodawater Bottles?
The pressure inside a glass bottle of soda water is typically higher than atmospheric pressure because carbon dioxide gas is dissolved under pressure to create carbonation. For commercial soda water, the pressure can be quite significant. Typically, the internal pressure can range from about 30 to 60 pounds per square inch (psi) or about 2 to 4 atmospheres (atm) at room temperature.
